BAD WEEK FOR:
A drunk German man, who has been arrested for repeatedly dialling the emergency services because he had fallen in love with voice of one of the operators.
The man said: "The first time I called it was an accident, I just pressed the wrong buttons. But the operator had such a sexy voice that I lost control and had to keep ringing back. I think I’m in love with her."
A Croatian lawyer, who has labelled himself "the ugliest man in the world" after having 5,000 marriage proposals turned down.
A German magazine, which has been criticised after it gave readers the chance to go to brothels for free. Readers of the Freizeit Magazine received a voucher entitling the holder to half an hour’s free sex in an Austrian brothel with the lady of their choice. The issue of the magazine sold out within a day.
A California prisoner, who is suing a Florida food packaging company after biting into a human fingertip in a packaged vegetarian meal. Felipe Rocha, an inmate at a maximum-security prison, is seeking at least $75,000 after the fingertip made its way into his food after one of the company’s staff had an industrial accident.
A builder from Germany, who has been arrested after he admitted stealing his female neighbours’ knickers because he liked to wear the garments to work. The man explained: "I like wearing women’s knickers to work but was too embarrassed to buy any myself, which is why I took my neighbours."
An amorous couple in Devon, after their aquatic-loving was interrupted by a Police rescue operation. Police and two lifeboat crew disturbed the naked occupants of the dingy after the alert was raised by a passer-by who mistook their passionate cries for panicked screams. A spokesman said: "They were not in any trouble when we got there".
British tax payers, with the news that Tony Blair has spent £2000 of tax payers’ money on make-up since 1999.
GOOD WEEK FOR:
Doctors in Germany, who successfully re-attached a man’s finger after it was severed by a train door and carried 64km away. The man and his finger became parted when he got it stuck in the door as he hurried to try and board a train to Freiberg. The train departed with the finger while the man was left standing on the platform in agony and with only nine fingers.
The world’s oldest mum, who gave birth at the age of 66. The woman now has confessed that she wants another baby. The Romanian had received 10 years of fertility treatment before having her first child.
Chastity, after a member of parliament in Uganda has said that girls could have their university fees paid for if they remain virgins until they leave school. The scheme was intended to promote female education. The girls would qualify for the virginity educational grants following a physical examination. The proposals do not apply to young Ugandan men.
A 105-year-old American man and his 100-year-old wife, who have been officially named as the world’s oldest married couple. Asked to explain the secret of a long and happy marriage, the wife said the trick was to take the lead and let her husband follow. "He is very easy going, I am the strong one," she said. We never argued, we just had discussions."
