topic：countries are much more interesting and develop more quickly when their population include a mixture of different nationalities and cultures. To what extend do you agree or disagree?
Recently, a heated debated has been triggered by the issue of whether countries are much more interesting and develop more quickly when their population include a mixture of different nationalities and cultures. People hold different views towards to it. Before rendering my opinion , I think it is necessary to explore both sides of the hot issue.
Advocates claim that a mixture of different nationalities and cultures in population is necessary and essential for their countries’ interest and development. The first important reason is that it can boost the social economic development by bringing along the currency circulation and promoting the service trades such as in transportation, hotel, restaurant and so on. Another major factor is that a mixture of cultures and different nationalities will broaden ordinary citizens’ mind and beneficial to those countries’ education system. The most frequently stressed one is that government can easily maintain a stable society, which is significant to the whole social development, because of the mixture of different nationalities and cultures.
However, those people who are strongly against argue that countries which include a mixture of different nationalities and cultures will loss their own identities. That is to say, those countries will lose their national characters including culture, traditional custom and so on. As an illustration, Guangzhou, which contain a mixture of different nationalities and cultures after decades development, become a city which similar to those western megacities. In addition, a recent research conducted by government shows that 40% young people in China forget most of their traditional customs and festivals.
From the above discussion, it is clear that there is virtually some truth in both statements. As far as I am concerned, I tend to side with the former view. I firmly hold that a mixture of different nationalities and cultures is essential and necessary for countries’ development and interest.
