雅思7分作文：countermeasures（龚玉瑶）

In many countries more and more young people are leaving school but unable to find jobs. What problems do you think youth unemployment causes for individuals and the society? What measures should be taken to reduce the level of unemployment among youngsters?
Recent years have witnessed a worsening problem in youth unemployment. According to a survey from local authority, the number of young people who were out of work was 5% greater in 2005 than that in the previous year. This issue is gaining more and more concern of the public, so I am to analyze this problem in this essay.
The shrinking job market leads to a series of problems for individuals and the society. For one thing, many young people lose their confidence after receiving the refused letters from the companies. It’s of common sight to hear that a graduate commits suicide because of the heavy pressure from job-market. For another thing, the stability of the society is threatened by the increasing laid-offs. The youth crime rate is going up as a result that the irritable young guys who can’t find a job go astray and take part in the underworld.
To this problem, we should not look on with folded arms. Instead, an array of measures should be adopted. For individuals, we should set a reasonable goal according to our ability and avoid becoming a person with high mark and low ability. In terms of the society, the government should encourage the enterprises to offer more job positions for the young people. It’s necessary to give guidance on career for the students who are leaving school and help them out of the depression of job-hunting. Moreover, some re-training courses can also enhance the professional skills to meet the need of different fields.
According to what I mentioned above, the problem of youth unemployment will become more and more serious if we don’t pay enough attention to it. Therefore, the individual and the society have to work hand in hand to solve this problem.
